They are famous about very rare Leica camera auctions. For example, a Leica-Motor camera was sold for 203.787 US dollars in 2004. (McKeown's, back cover). A rare Leica I with a calf leather cover from 1930, one of only three examples known to exist, climbed from 15,000 Euros to 120,000 Euros, including buyer's premium in 2010.
