Voigtländer Perkeo II

Perkeo II

The Perkeo II was a medium format roll film folding camera made by Voigtländer and produced between 1952-55.

'Perkeo' means a pigmy. The Perkeo cameras were very compact and light cameras for use of medium fomat true to Perkeo's name. They are arguably the smallest 6x6 folder.

The Perkeo II was the second of three Perkeos. This model was distinguished by a frame counter and a wind-on locking mechanism. Once the film is wound into starting position a lever is flicked over. When the film winder is turned the film stops in in the correct place for the next frame. This means that the red window does not have to be used except to align the film for the first frame.

Almost all Perkeo IIs came with Voigtlander's coated Color-Skopar lens.
