It was founded in 1875 and incorporated in 1917, and it is still in existence today (2007).[1] Its main activity is the production of scientific and medical instruments. The company was the first to take X-ray radiographs in Japan in 1896, and delivered the first Japanese X-ray apparatus in 1909.[2] It entered the capital of Takachiho Seisakusho (the later Olympus) in 1933.[3] Around 1940–1, it used Zuiko 50/1.5 lenses by Takachiho on an X-ray camera using 35mm film.[4]
