My first 'serious' camera came to me by a Japanese professor visiting Berkeley in 1955. It was a Lord 35mm coupled rangefinder camera with f3.5 Highkor lens and Seiko shutter. Through these many decades the camera remains in perfect condition. The leather case, however, has fallen apart. My regret is that thousands of transparencies and negatives taken with my Lord camera have deteriorated due to age, high temperatures, bad processing and other causes. Too bad the digital age took 50 years to overtake film.
