The View Meter 9 was the first CdS light meter with a measuring angle of just 9 degrees. Thus it was the predecessor of Minolta's famous Spot-Meters which had a measuring angle of 1 degree. The nine degrees of the View Meter 9 were narrow enough that a viewfinder with round bright-frame was implemented parallel to the CdS cell's lens.
On one side the meter has a lever to switch from low to high EV-range. On the axis of the lever is the button to fire the meter. After releasing the button the meter's instrument pinpoints the actual EV of the measuring area.
The meter was launched in 1964.
