Viceroy AUTO 35

Nippon Kōsokki was a Japanese manfacturer of shutters and cameras. They made various cameras models for for private brand companies. Some of the brands included; Hanimex, Taron, B&A (Burstein&Applebee) and Viceroy. This model the Viceroy Auto 35 was also sold as the Taron Auto-EE, the Hanimex 35 Auto-EE and the B&A Auto-EE. It is a sturdy rangefinder camera with a Citizen MVL shutter. It uses a CdS light meter with Cadmium Sulphide Cells powered by a 1.3 volt mercury battery. The 45mm f1.8 lens is of a good quality and amber coated to reduce refraction. The shutter has speeds from 1 second to 1/500 of a second and Bulb.

 Relations

As you can see from the photos on this page all of these cameras share the same genes. They are not exactly alike but pretty darn close. Curiously the Canon QL Canonnette and the Konica EE look very similar as well. Whether they were all made by Nippon Kosokki or not I cannot say.
