Conley's Quick Shot was a falling plate magazine camera. In 1899 it was available for twelve 4×5 plates, or twelve 3 1/4 × 4 1/4 plates. The camera was covered with leather. It had two reflecting type viewfinders, one for horizontal and one for vertical exposures. Its plate release mechanism included a watch hand that showed the number of used plates, and a lever inside the camera which might have helped the last used plate to fall more gently onto the stack of used plates and/or to hold the used plates on their stack when the camera was used for a horizontal exposure. Of course the falling mechanism for used plates worked only when the camera stood upright like for vertical exposures.
