Rifax is a medium format film folding bed camera made by Beier and introduced in c.1935.

Rifax 4.5x6 1936Edit

  • Similar to he Beier Precisa but has radial focusing lever and no f/4.5 lenses
  • Film 120 roll, picture size 6x9 and 4.5x6 with a mask
  • Lens: Rodenstock Trinar 75mm f/3.5 [1]
  • Shutter: Prontor II with speeds 1-1/250 +T & B
  • Cable release socket on the shutter
  • Folding sports frame finder and waist level brilliant finder
  • Two tripod socket, 3/8"

Some cameras have no name, with Laak Pololyt 110mm f/3.9 lens in Compur shutter.[2]

  • Similar to Rifax 1936, but with a coupled rangefinder
  • Same lens/shutter combinations
  • There were slightly modified versions also.

Rifax 6x9 1936Edit

  • Film 120 roll, picture size 6x9 and 4.5x6 with a mask
  • Radial focusing lever
  • Early models have rounded body and later models (c.1937) have squared body
  • With or without body release
  • Lens: Actinar 105mm f/4.5 (the cameras with Elmar lens are very expensive)
  • Shutter: Prontor
  • Vauxhall 6x9 is a name variant
  • It was also sold as Rodenstock Citoklapp (1937).

  • Same with Rifax 6x9, but with coupled rangefinder
  • Film 120 roll, picture size 6x9 and 4.5x6 with a mask
  • Lens: Schneider Xenar 75mm f/2.8
  • Shutter: Compur-Rapid with speeds 1-1/400 +T & B
  • Coupled rangefinder
  • With or without body release
  • Bellows: self-erected
